Overboard?

When I walked into the residence halls on Saturday night I was bombarded by RA's. They surrounded the Coughlin Commons and even had an extra desk in front of Centennial. I understand it was the night of the Homecoming dance, but I still tend to think this is a little overboard. Many students go off campus because they know the policies are strictly enforced. Every RA was on Duty...but is this really necessary?

Although I've never lived on campus, I don't see a swarm of RA's right there, front and center, as a necessity. If they were so interested in monitoring students' behaviors, why wouldn't they roam the halls looking to expose a person(s) breaking the rules? I bet they could've dug for dirt in the dorms and got really muddy that night. Did they seriously stand there guarding the doors from non-residents? Wow. Gotta love that!
